Core logic
RSI (Relative Strength Index) measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes on a 0–100 scale. Below 30 signals oversold conditions — potential bounce. Above 70 signals overbought — potential pullback. Buy oversold, sell overbought.
Range-bound markets where overbought/oversold extremes reliably precede reversals. Works best on higher timeframes (4h, daily).
Strong trends where RSI stays overbought/oversold for extended periods. Selling at RSI 70 in a bull run means missing the bulk of the move.

What can go wrong
Trending market failure
In bull markets, RSI can stay above 70 for weeks. In bear markets, it stays below 30. Fading the trend leads to repeated losses.
False signals in choppy markets
RSI can briefly cross thresholds without meaningful price follow-through, generating unprofitable trades.
